Overview
Adventuring through Vanilla Minecraft challenges players to survive in hostile environments, as there are many dangerous creatures or obstacles in the world. This can be frustrating for some, even if peaceful mode is enabled since there are still difficulties. Fortunately, using modifications to overhaul Minecraft can relieve these stressful situations. Combining these mods into a large collection, known as modpacks, gives you the ability to play around with many unique features such as custom materials, equipment, powers, new biomes, and more. One of these packs is called Peace of Mind, which allows players to enjoy Minecraft without any hassles or minimal challenges. There are quests to complete that’ll provide you with useful rewards to continue progressing in the world. Additionally, this modpack is perfect for beginners to the modding scene, as it’s meant to be a peaceful and smooth experience. Whether you’re exploring the biomes to find rare resources or building complex machines, there’s lots of opportunity with Peace of Mind. Setting this up to play with friends is a great way to enjoy the game in a new light. However, this process can be confusing for new players if they’re unfamiliar with our panel. Getting Started
Upon entering your newly modded server, the differences from normal Minecraft will become apparent. Whether you start off in a custom biome or an enhanced village, your surroundings will look more unique. Additionally, all players have default items in their hotbar when joining the server. These include Materials & You, Encyclopedia Mysticum, and the Quest Book. The first two are informative resources that’ll help you understand some basic modifications from the pack, such as Tinker’s Construct to build powerful gear. The last one is to view your quests, then collect their rewards upon completion. All of these will come in handy when getting started on your new adventure in the Peace of Mind modpack. Besides this, players can view any recipe or additional information for items in their inventory on the right-hand side. This will greatly assist you when crafting anything in-game, but acts as a way to learn more about this pack. We’ll go through some important details about this in the subsections below to help you begin playing.
Viewing Quests
Remember, the Quest Book is what allows you to view and accept missions in-game. There are several chapters containing lots of these activities, accessible on the left-hand side of the menu. Players will want to focus on “The Basics” chapter, as this is the introductory area for the modpack. These quests are essential for any user, as they require you to collect wood, cobblestone, and craft unique items in preparation for the grand adventure.
Other chapters will show you late-game stages, such as building machines or factories to produce materials.
Gathering Resources
Similarly to Vanilla Minecraft, the first steps to get started are collecting basic resources. These include Wood Logs, Cobblestone, Tools, a Bed, and Food items. There’s a minimal amount of them that must be gathered, as it’s configured in the quests. Make sure to view them all to understand each Task Item you’ll need to collect and what Reward(s) you can receive. It’s strongly advised to build an early base since you’ll be getting tons of resources as you complete these quests. Otherwise, build chests to store all your loot for later use.
Random Structures
While you explore the world and complete quests, you may stumble upon some structures. These can be small shacks, fountains, or other kinds of buildings. Most of them will have chests or valuable blocks hidden inside or around them, so make sure to be on the lookout for loot. For example, containers can hold custom and normal items to help you progress through quests. Otherwise, they’ll be mineral ores, crystals, or other block types.
However, these randomly generated structures aren’t too impressive compared to other ones.
Better Villages
All villages in the world will be different, unique, and custom to their biome. Whether you find an entire settlement with a marketplace or an improved desert base with villagers, these are a great place to start your adventure. There’s always loot available for players to grab, but some of these items can be vanilla ones. This means that half the time you’ll locate modded resources, while others will be normal. Regardless of this, there should be plenty of custom houses that can make for great starter bases.
New Biomes
There are tons of special biomes to explore in the world with the Peace of Mind modpack. These can range from large mountains with unique vegetation to enormous swamps, giving you many options for building a base. Additionally, this affects what mob types can spawn around since they’re tailored to each biome. Whether you find deer or interesting sea creatures, there are many kinds to enjoy. Remember, there won’t be too many hostile creatures if any, so don’t worry about dying to a creeper.
Unique Items
There are tons of items to craft, loot, and obtain in the world with this modpack. These range from unique equipment to cosmetics for your trained dog, giving you plenty of options to try out. The most important ones are the new tools and weapons to make, as these can have powerful properties to them. Another valuable one to keep in mind are Life Hearts, giving your character more HP.
These are only obtainable through quest rewards or found in the world, making them extremely valuable.
Loot Chests
As you complete quests, some will award you with lootable chests that randomly give you items. These have different tiers to them, with Legendary being one of the best to get. Players can receive Diamond, Emerald, Gold, and Iron blocks from them. Alternatively, other items such as food, tools, armor, useful blocks, and more are available. This is a wonderful way to easily obtain rare gear, so make sure you use each one after obtaining it. Otherwise, save them up for later when you absolutely need resources.
Antique Atlas
Later on in this modpack, you’ll create an Antique Atlas book to act as a global map in the world. This serves as a way to establish waypoints for you to always keep track of your base or other areas. Remember, you can view its recipe in your inventory by using the right-hand menu to search for the book. This is certainly an essential tool when playing through Peace of Mind, as getting lost can easily happen with the many unique biomes or structures.
Special Pets
Other unique items may include special pet items to use in-game, which allows you to have permanent abilities. For example, a Spider Pet allows you to have the Jump Boosting effect and the power to climb walls. There are many other kinds with different attributes to try out, like Chest or Creeper Mobs. All of these are craftable or found in Loot Chests, but only apply effects to your character while holding it. This means you’ll always have to have it in your hand for the mob to be active.
Waystones
Instead of walking around the world to reach your destination, using Waystones allows you to instantly teleport there. These are craftable and found in villages, making them widely available. Players can name the stone to organize their teleportations, but naturally generated ones will automatically be assigned one instead. This is an extremely useful tool to have in your world, as it’ll help relieve any navigational issues in the server.
Grand Adventures
Later on in the gameplay, you’ll go on grand adventures and quests in the world. These will lead you to create complex factories, highly detailed bases, and collecting valuable items. The main characters of this story are you and your friends, which allows you to form a Party in the Quest Book to overcome any mission. Otherwise, tackling the small challenges by yourself is an option that’ll still provide you with endless amounts of entertainment. Regardless of what you do in this modpack, there are tons of activities to enjoy with or without other players.
Common Issues
Cannot Join the Server
In some cases, players may be unable to join your Minecraft server. This can be caused by a few reasons, such as not having the modpack installed on their launcher before joining. Make sure all players have the latest version of the modpack loaded on their computer to make a successful connection. However, using an invalid IP Address:Port or Subdomain to join will result in the same issue. Ensure everything is being entered correctly when using multiplayer in-game. Combining these solutions will likely resolve any connectivity problems for the impacted players.
Peace of Mind isn’t Working
Other issues may include the modpack not working properly, such as failing to load. This occurs when either the server or client is encountering errors. For example, if Peace of Mind isn’t selected in the Game File area of your panel, then it will not load. Once this is corrected, make sure to Restart the server so all the files can successfully be generated. However, there could be internal conflicts if you’re using a Server Profile with existing documents on it. It’s strongly advised to make a new one, as this will avoid any unwanted issues. If the situation persists, consider manually installing the modpack on the panel to ensure everything is functional. As for client-related issues, try redownloading Peace of Mind on CurseForge to see if that’ll work. Alternatively, allocating more memory to the launcher will allow all the 140+ modifications to be loaded.
The World is Incorrect
On rare occasions, the world may not be entirely correct when trying to play the modpack. This happens when you forget to generate a new world, which is done by selecting Create New World when prompted after enabling it in the Game File area. Alternatively, using the Change World button from the panel and entering a new name in the field will accomplish the same task. After doing this, ensure to Restart the server so the new generation can load properly. Otherwise, uploading the world from singleplayer is another option to get everything working.
