Welcome to the island of ARK where you are stranded and will need to explore and survive with your friends and against other players in this action-adventure game. The game is experienced from either third or first person within a beautiful open world. You will need to hunt, farm, collect resources, create items, make shelter, unlock technologies and more to endure this dangerous place and competing tribes of players. Dinosaurs roam the land and can be fought or tamed amongst many other prehistoric creatures in a massive world. This game is not for the faint of heart as it is notoriously difficult and unforgiving, but has captivated many players with its complexity. You have the choice to create either a PvE server to play alongside your friends to survive or enable PvP to compete with many other players. Supported expansions include Primitive Plus, Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Aberration, Extinction and Valguero.
Our company has helped over 300,000 players become server owners. Creating your own ARK server is not a simple task as it requires specialized hardware, software and bandwidth to operate properly. After many years of hosting game servers we have perfected how to operate and manage these servers. The foundation of our service is our fast hardware and reliable networks. Making an Ark server requires deploying the dedicated server software on this hardware and allowing outside connections for all of your players. Our system does all of this and also keeps the server up to date automatically. You will also need the ability to manage the server which is easily done through our web based control panel. From the panel you can change settings, add passwords or whitelists, implement mods, start a new world and more! Running an Ark server with mods from your own computer or remote VPS is very complicated and will have poor performance. This is the reason many have chosen Apex Hosting for ark survival evolved server hosting.

To update your ARK server you will need to use SteamCMD and run the app_update command. When using an ARK server hosting company the server will be updated automatically and always on the current version of the game.
You can add mods to an ARK server by adding the Steam workshop ARK mod IDs to the gameusersettings.ini file found in your server files. After rebooting the server the mods will automatically be downloaded and activated on your ARK server.
You can change the settings of an ARK server by editing the configuration files. After starting a server for the first time the GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini files will be created in the /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer directory. You can use a text editor to update these files, then restart the server for the changes to take effect.
