Starting a Terraria server is not as simple as installing some software, requiring dedicated server software that allow outside connections for any player. This is insecure and to be strenuous on your network. Our system accomplishes all of this hard work for you. We also make managing the server easier than ever with our web-based game panel. This allows you to install mods, control the server settings, manage players and much more! Without a dedicated server, you would missed out on a lot of different functionalities that Terraria has to offer.
To join a Terraria server, navigate to your game panel and locate the “IP:Port” section. Make note of this address. Launch Terraria, then press “Play”, then press “Connect”. In the first field, enter the IP address not including the colon and the 5 digits afterwards. In the second field, enter the remaining 5 digit port. Insert a password, if applicable, then press “Connect” and “Join”.
How to change the difficulty level of your Terraria server?
To change the world map, navigate to the game panel and stop the server. Proceed to the FTP File Access on the left and log in. From here, navigate to the “Servers” folder, then your world folder which is marked by a globe symbol. Then proceed to “Server” and press “Edit” to the right of the Commands.dat file. On a blank line, enter map [mapname], replacing “[mapname]” with the name of a map. Once done, save the file and restart the server.
How to change your Terraria server’s MOTD?
To change the Terraria server Message of the Day, log into your Apex Server Panel, then stop the server. From here, navigate to the “Customizations” tab on the left-hand side, then locate the “MOTD” field. Replace the text with your desired MOTD, then return to the main panel page once complete. You can now restart the server for these changes to take effect.
