Overview
Experiencing Vanilla Minecraft for the first time can be an enjoyable adventure, as there are lots of achievements and advancements to playthrough. However, some players may feel this isn’t enough to satisfy their desires. This may lead them to search for addons to enhance the game, with mods being a popular choice. These can be combined with others to create large modpacks, giving you the ultimate experience. One of them is Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla, a pack that introduces RPG elements into normal Minecraft. For instance, players need to upgrade their skills with EXP to begin unlocking helpful resources, specific items, and other aspects. In other words, getting more health or having the ability to mine stone requires you to have enough experience points. This creates more challenges and hurdles to overcome, leading to longer playtime sessions. There’s also an immense amount of unique biomes and structures to find throughout the world, adding onto the RPG elements. Playing with friends allows you and others to become completely immersed in the gameplay. Setting this up is straightforward and easily done, but some may get confused along the way. Due to this, we’ve created this Apex Hosting guide to show you how to install the Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla modpack on your Minecraft server.
Summary
The Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla modpack was developed by the Valhelsia Team and published on CurseForge in mid-2021. This pack is for Minecraft Fabric 1.18.2 and over time, collected 1.32 million downloads with countless positive reviews. Getting Started
Upon entering the world, you’ll notice there are unique shaders, animations, and textures. This amplifies the standard Minecraft experience, as minerals appear as real ores now. Additionally, there are natural sounds all around you, giving you more immersiveness. Playing with the modpack is fairly simple, as you’ll need to collect wood and craft basic tools to begin your adventure. However, you’re granted three skill points to use for anything you want. These give you specific abilities to either mine certain materials and use items. For instance, you may have noticed that you have significantly low HP, which is from a lack of experience in the world. Understanding these skills are essential to the Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla modpack, so review our subsections below to learn more.
Using Skills
By default, pressing K on your keyboard opens the Skills menu. Otherwise, accessing it at the top left of your Inventory is also an option. Once you’ve opened it, there will be 12 different kinds to try out. These range from controlling how much health you have to being able to use a fishing rod. If you want to learn more about each type, then click its icon to reveal a description. This is useful for understanding exactly what you’re receiving upon upgrading the skill.
Skill Types
Due to the amount of skills to try out, we’ll break down the three best ones to use early in your gameplay. These will increase your chances of survival and help you easily progress in the world. Additionally, they’ll also come in handy for unlocking other skills to continue your advancement.
Building your Health skill is straightforward, as it increases your character’s HP. By default, you start out with three hearts, but leveling this up by one will increase by 0.5. After reaching the max level, you’ll get 4.0 absorption to ensure your safety against undead creatures.
A valuable skill to have is Mining, as this allows you to learn more blocks to break. For instance, the first level allows you to obtain gravel, sand, and other basic materials found around the world. Additionally, with every level you’ll receive a 1% raw ore drop boost.
Another critical skill to upgrade is Farming, as this allows you to use Fishing Rods for more experience points to level up. However, the first level gives you the ability to have a Furnace, making it a critical skill to have on your character.
Stats Menu
As hinted above, collecting experience is needed to get skill points. This can be achieved by simply collecting EXP, which is done by killing mobs, mining ores, fishing, and lots of other activities. You can view your stats in the same menu as the skills, near the top of the GUI.
Additionally, it displays important information about your armor, health, damage, agility, among other details. However, the most important element to this area is your points, as it shows your current available ones to use. This menu will play an extremely important role along your journey, so make sure to continuously check up on your character’s status.
Leveling Up
There are many ways to obtain points to level up your skills, from killing mobs like squids or giraffes to fishing for sea creatures. However, this depends on what abilities you decide to upgrade. If you have a furnace available, then cooking food from your kills is a great way to maximize experience points early on. With this in mind, focus on what’s available to you for quick access to EXP. Alternatively, you can try to search throughout the world to find loot that’ll help you obtain these points. If you missed out on an important skill, then slaying creatures is your best bet.
Unique Items
After playing through the modpack, you’ll begin to notice special materials and unique items to collect. These greatly vary, with most being obtained late-game. We’ll briefly review some of them down below to give you a better idea of what’s possible in Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla.
Dragon Scales are collected by slaying the Ender Dragon, allowing you to craft equipment. A popular one to use is a Dragon Pickaxe, made from netherite and the scales in the Smithing Table. This has 12 digging speed, 7 attack damage, and 5 harvest level, making it one of the best pickaxes to own in-game. Due to the rarity and design of the item, traveling to the End is required.
Instead of being a powerful miner, you can have fun with the Potato Cannon. This is an awesome weapon to use against your friends, as it shoots Potatoes that deal 5 damage each. Additionally, it has a knockback output of 1.5 to ensure no one comes close to your character. As for making this launcher, it requires you to obtain custom parts and put them together in a Mechanical Crafter.
If you happen to find Nebulite and Drift Jelly, then you can make Drift Leggings to speed around the world. This introduces a 20% movement buff to your character, with 2 toughness and a 4 armor rating. These pieces aren’t the best for combat, but allows you to easily navigate the surrounding environment, including high jumping.
Exploring the World
As you continue playing Valhelsia Enhanced Vanilla, many biomes will become apparent. These tend to be large with various materials scattered around. Whether you’re on a tropical island or in the deep depths of a magical forest, there are plenty of areas to explore. Some of these may be better suited for early players, with others requiring more skills to obtain unique resources. The Agility levels will make navigating through the world a lot easier, so you may want to invest into that. Otherwise, utilize equipment like boats to quickly explore the map.
Common Issues
Unfortunately, sometimes the modpack won’t load on the server or client due to numerous reasons. If you’re experiencing this on the server, then try using a new Server Profile to ensure the installation goes smoothly. This will create a new directory in the FTP panel so no file interference can occur after selecting the modpack from your Game File area. If you’re having troubles on the client, then simply delete the old profile and install the new one. In other words, try updating the modpack’s version to the latest type to ensure everything works. However, you can try manually installing it instead to see if that suits you better.
After setting everything up and you’re unable to join the server, then confirm you’ve launched Minecraft with the modpack. This has to be done through CurseForge
unless you installed it by other means. Once this checks out and the problem persists, then try reinstalling it on the server. This can be done by creating a new Server Profile or resetting the files. These solutions will hopefully get everything working so you can enjoy the pack with friends.
If the world isn’t correct upon joining the server, then you may have missed a step in the installation process. Make sure you click Create New World
after selecting Change Version
in the prompts. This will ensure a brand new map is generated for you to enjoy. Alternatively, creating a world in Singleplayer
and uploading it on the server is another option.
