Overview
The exploration of your Vanilla Minecraft server can introduce you to a wide variety of biomes and resources, but can easily become repetitive. This may impact where you build bases or other structures, as finding a suitable location is always a challenge. Due to these potential struggles, some players search for solutions to enhance their gameplay experience. This leads them to use modifications, implementing new features in the world. If you desire to have a unique world with special biomes, resources, and items, then consider trying the Eden Ring mod. Playing with this allows you to create a custom portal to enter an entirely different dimension, providing you with more activities in Minecraft. Whether you’re wanting to have more colorful building blocks or simply make a base on the perfect floating island, this modification gives you lots of possibilities. Setting it up to play with friends is quickly done on our panel, but may confuse newcomers to the hosting scene. With this in mind, we’ve created this Apex Hosting tutorial to show you how to install and use Eden Ring on your Minecraft server.

Getting Started
After joining the server, players will need to hunt down some required materials to make the Eden Ring portal. Fortunately, these items aren’t too uncommon to find throughout the world. After gathering them, you’ll need to craft some blocks and build in a specific way to activate the portal. When entering the new dimension, there will be tons of islands, biomes, and more resources to explore. There are many unique types of materials found in this environment, leading to some creative building designs. In the following subsections, we’ll go through the portal creation process and showcase the new dimension to get you started. However, we encourage you to install the REI mod to begin viewing all the crafting recipes from Vanilla Minecraft and Eden Ring, as this’ll help later on.
Collecting Materials
One of the first steps to begin your adventure is to collect Copper, found in low-level cave systems all around the world. These ores are extremely common, making them widely available. Make sure to mine enough to make 12x Waxed Copper Blocks and 12x Waxed Cut Copper Stairs. This may take some time to accomplish, but will be well worth it later on. Additionally, you’ll want to obtain the following too: 1x Gold Block and 1x Flint and Steel. Besides this precious mineral, the rest of these materials are easy-to-collect.
As for the last remaining items to gather, you’ll want to locate a Geode underneath your world. These are common, but difficult to find unless one spawns near a cave system. Once found, mine enough blocks and crystals to get the following: 4x Block of Amethyst and 4x Amethyst Clusters. This process may take you the longest compared to the above materials to collect. Once you’ve obtained and crafted all of them, the portal can be created.
Portal Creation
Find a suitable location for the portal, which requires substantial space compared to other kinds in Minecraft. Afterward, place the Gold Block in the middle and surround it with Waxed Copper Blocks. At the corners, use the remaining waxed blocks and fill the spaces between them with your Waxed Cut Copper Stairs. Continue to place the Amethyst Blocks on top of the corners, then use the Amethyst Clusters on them.
When you’re finished, activate it with the Flint and Steel by right-clicking the middle gold block. This should immediately change the structure’s design and reveal a portal in the center for you to walk through.
Eden Ring Dimension
Upon entering the new dimension, players will be met with an outer space aesthetic sky with floating islands scattered around. Additionally, wondrous biomes fill the lands with unique vegetation and terrain generation. Make sure to not lose your portal, as it may be hard to reach the Overworld without the proper materials. Fortunately, there are mountains with tons of copper, iron, and gold awaiting you.
This serves as a means to make another portal in the case you lost or broke it by mistake. With all this in mind, let’s showcase what players can expect from the Eden Ring Dimension.
Unique Generation
There’s a mixture of normal biomes with new ones in this dimension, with the majority being completely unique. Whether you stumble on a Golden Forest or Wind Valley, there’s countless of them to explore. Some of these will have large mountains, while others will resemble Plains in the normal world. The entire dimension is encased with islands, among a few smaller ones nearby most of the time. Unfortunately, this land and its many biomes are barren without any structures or many creatures. This might be perfect for builders, as there wouldn’t be any obstacles in their way.
Instead of custom blocks from Eden Ring, there are biomes mainly containing vanilla resources. For example, encountering a Lakeside Desert has lots of sand, gravel, and dead bushes. Although, an added benefit to this biome type is water in Aquatus Pools that can allow you to build farms. There’s always unique properties to each one you’ll explore in this dimension, so keep this in mind as you continue adventuring.
New Resources
Due to all the different biomes in this dimension, the amount of resources players can collect is immense. On almost every island, there will be unique trees that offer you custom wooden planks. These blocks range in color, allowing you to become more creative with building bases or anything else you have in mind.
There’s also plenty of other materials, such as Balloon Mushroom Sporocarp, Lanterns, and Gravilite items. The last two provide players with the ability to light up the world, as they work extremely well compared to torches.
Valuable Minerals
As briefly mentioned before, there are minerals available for players to mine. These can either be ores or raw blocks of them, which are abundant in specific biomes. For example, finding a Brainstorm or Stone island tends to have the most of these minerals. As for the kinds of them to collect, these include Iron, Copper, Gold, and Coal. If you’re wanting other types of ores, then return to the Overworld for them. Otherwise, you can easily get stacks of minerals in the Eden Ring dimension to continue progressing.
Diskwing Creatures
As you explore the world, encountering a flying passive mob may happen. These medium sized mobs are called Diskwings, as they have disked shaped wings to soar in the skies. Sadly, players cannot get any item drops from them. This means they only provide a source of experience points, but only little at best. Despite this, they make for great companions across the islands in this universe. Alternatively, they can be a pest if you’re trying to build large structures.
Endless Possibilities
The Eden Ring modification allows players to have endless possibilities, as there are many unique features across the new dimension. For instance, crafting a Gravity Compressor from Gravilite items provides you with a redstone-powered machine to control gravity. This can be turned into a quick elevator or be used to easily navigate between low to high islands. There are other examples players can try out too, leading to lots of entertaining activities or adventures.
Common Issues
In most cases, some users may be unable to join the server due various reasons. An extremely popular one to encounter is using an incorrect IP Address:Port or Subdomain to make the connection. This directly affects how players join, as a simple typo or mistake can result in failure. Ensure everyone is using the correct values to connect, which can be confirmed on your main panel near the top. Besides this, incorrectly installing Eden Ring on the Minecraft launcher can result in the same situation. Make sure players are using the correct version of the mod and have Fabric installed on their client to support it. Otherwise, there could be an underlying problem on the server’s end preventing anyone from connecting.
Another common issue to have is noticing the modification isn’t working properly. This can happen for a wide range of reasons on both the server and/or launcher. For instance, installing Eden Ring on the FTP panel without having a compatible Fabric version selected in the Game File section can result in the problem. Ensure you have all of this correctly setup, as anything else may trigger a server-wide crash. This is amplified if you missed the mod’s dependencies, BCLib and Fabric API. As for any client-related issues, ensure you’ve transferred all modifications into the mods directory of your localized game files. This also applies to the server too, as nothing can work if it’s not in the appropriate area. Once you’ve made these corrections, restart from the main panel and/or reboot your launcher to try again.
