Having the best performance when hosting your own game server to play with friends is important – so we’re upgrading our infrastructure! This process involves migrating your existing machine’s CPU to a more powerful one. Everyone in select server locations will receive this free upgrade, resulting in an improved run-time experience. Expect downtime during this transition, which is determined by the server size. On average, this migration can take around 30 minutes. Besides that, we have all the important details to share with you about this change. Let’s jump right in!
Upgraded Performance
Our older hardware will be upgraded to Ryzen 7950X CPUs, increasing the overall performance for game servers. We’re implementing this change starting on July 24th, which is very soon. The migration will affect a large number of server regions, but not all of them at this time. You will get an email informing you about your location’s upcoming migration before it happens.
After the migrations have taken place, your IP Address:Port will be changed. However, your Apex Hosting Subdomain will remain the same! With all of this in mind, we’ve created the following table to help you understand more about this process.
