Minecraft Tutorial

If you are trying to make a flat world with the multicraft control panel, there are a few simple steps that you will need to follow. Please keep in mind that you will need to create a new world if you want it to be flat since the level type setting is only used during world creation.

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Change the level-type to FLAT in the server properties file. You can find this in config files for the server. Save this setting.
  3. Change the world name to something new such as flat-world or world2 because you can only make a new world as flat, this will not change an existing world. Save the new setting.
  4. Start your server.

Having a superflat world is a great way to open up a large area for huge and impressive builds. It can also be used to easily import schematics with World Edit. Many players choose to start with a flat world to completely customize their experience for mini games and other more creative gametypes. If you are creating a survival or adventure world you will likely want to stick to the default generation so you have incredible landscapes and caverns to explore. When you start a minecraft server it will automatically generate a random world for you based off of the seed and level type that is selected. If you want to change these settings in the future a brand new world will need to be created so make sure you pick exactly what you want the first time so you don’t need to start fresh later on.

Don’t worry though, all of these settings come pre-configured when you purchase minecraft hosting from us. This is completely optional and just another way to change the way that the game plays once you are bored.
