In cases where you and your friends want a completely unique experience in Minecraft, try using modpacks. These are large collections of mods that add new features, such as items, blocks, mobs, dimensions, magic, technology, and so much more. One such pack is known as Fantasy Skies, transforming Minecraft into a whole different game. For instance, you start off in the Void World with one island – requiring you to complete quests to survive. Afterward, you’re able to travel to a wide variety of dimensions, fight bosses, and embark on grand adventures. Level up your character with skills, abilities, custom enchantments, and advanced technologies.
Setting this up on your own dedicated server is extremely easy, as we have the modpack preinstalled for your convenience. With this in mind, we’ve created this Apex Hosting guide to show you how to install and play the Fantasy Skies modpack in Minecraft.

Fantasy Skies Modpack
There are over 450 mods in the Fantasy Skies modpack for Minecraft, offering you tons of features to explore. Due to its size, we strongly recommend allocating memory to your launcher. This will prevent loading and gameplay issues! However, it may still take a few minutes for everything to completely load. Once in-game, you have plenty of time to explore what changed in Minecraft. The most noticeable aspect is that you aren’t in the Overworld, but rather the Void World.
In this new dimension, you only have a single custom island. There are no other resources available, besides a tree. Your first steps should be collecting wood and making basic supplies. Make sure to grab all the items though, as they can easily fall into the void. Additionally, you’re able to gather pebbles from the dirt by shift + right-clicking it. This helps when crafting cobblestone for more sturdy equipment or functional blocks.
Endless Quests
Almost everything from this modpack is explained and shown in your Quest Book. This reveals important information about collecting resources, unlocking abilities, getting access to other dimensions, and overall progressing through the game. Make sure to view all of these and the other chapters – especially since you’re able to get rewards!
Skill Tree
As you continue playing, scrolls will be given for skill points. These can be used in your skill tree to unlock new abilities. Whether you focus on combat, mining, crafting, or enchanting, there’s something for everyone. You can only choose one starter perk, then unlock everything else afterward. This means you’ll have to carefully play the Fantasy Skies modpack for Minecraft.
Companions
One of the most helpful features in this modpack is companions, which are NPCs that can help you through many tasks. For instance, the first one you receive is called Isabell who restores health. Others may include workers to help farm, mine, fight, or craft.
These are primarily unlocked in quests or in the shops from your book. Keep in mind that each companion has their own health and duration, so don’t overwork them!
Collecting Resources
One of the most effective ways to gather resources in Fantasy Skies is using sieves. These allow you to shuffle through gravel and other blocks to obtain valuable items that aren’t native to your island. There are several tiers of them, with the second one allowing you to get iron ore. We strongly recommend building a 3×3 grid of these to use all of them all.
Rare Equipment
There are plenty of weapons, tools, and armor in the Fantasy Skies modpack for Minecraft. These range from common to legendary types, with some having strange powers behind them. Players starting out will likely receive one or more of them in a loot box via quest rewards.
Make sure to not lose them, as replacing lost items of these rarities is extremely challenging. The only other way to find them is slaying bosses or looting structures in different dimensions.
New Dimensions
As you continue playing this modpack on your Minecraft server, new dimensions will be available. The premise is that you’ve been trapped in the Void World and must rebuild civilization, leading you to the Nether, Aether, and other worlds. Expect many foes and challenges, as each dimension carries its own risks – so arm yourself with powerful equipment.
Magic & Tech
Further along in the gameplay of your Fantasy Skies server, magic and technology will be explored. These two categories are massive, with tons of interesting features to try out. Whether it’s generating electricity via wind to power machines or advanced mystical enchanting with forbidden knowledge, there are tons of features to discover!
Fantasy RPG Adventure
Hosting your own Fantasy Skies modpack Minecraft server leads everyone on a wild RPG adventure that transcends anything else. This is one of the largest packs available on CurseForge, offering you a wide variety of features to play around with – changing everything you know about Minecraft.
