Bonsai Trees 3 Minecraft Mod

Overview
When you first spawn into a new Minecraft vanilla world, the first course of action is almost always to chop down a tree and gather wood. While this is fine in the early game, many may find it troublesome that after playing for hours and upgrading their tools, they’ll still need to manually gather wood. While farms and mods may solve this issue, most are too complicated for such a simple task. This is not the case with Bonsai Trees 3, a mod that allows you to simply grow and cut trees automatically with just a single block and axe. The plants are tiny, allowing you to store multiple wood types within a single room of a house or cave. Installing mods is easy with our Minecraft server panel, so we have created this tutorial to help you get started.

How to Get Started
Now that you have installed the necessary mods, you are ready to load into your server and begin using Bonsai Trees! There may not appear to be any drastic changes added through this mod, as it only adds a single new recipe, the bonsai pot.
Bonsai Pot
To begin, obtain 5 bricks and craft them in a U-Shape to create the Bonsai Pot. This is what makes the whole mod work, allowing you to grow miniature versions of plants and obtain their drops. Once crafted, find a good spot to put it and grab a sapling of your choice.
Adding a Tree
Once placed, you’ll first need to gather some soil for the plant to grow. This can be grass or dirt, though either will work. Once done, right-click the Bonsai Pot with the soil block, then again with the desired sapling. You should immediately notice a tiny tree growing rapidly within the pot.
Obtaining Wood
By right-clicking the pot with an empty hand, a GUI will open allowing you to view the details of the pot. This includes the growth progress, upgrade bar, and output bar. To gather wood from your bonsai tree, right-click the axe symbol to the right of the progress bar. Performing will become tedious, but can be solved with the use of upgrades.
Upgrades
There are a few upgrades that can be added to your Bonsai Pot that can change the drops or even add automatic wood collection. The available upgrades are as follows:
Axe of any kind – Automatically collects the plant drops after the progress bar hits 100%
Efficiency – Increases the growth rate for the bonsai tree.
Fortune – Increases the chances of other drops such as sticks or saplings.
Silk Touch – Collects blocks such as leaves which require a silk touch tool.
Hoppers
The various drops will fit up quickly when unattended, especially if you have added upgrades to your bonsai tree. Luckily you can place a hopper underneath the pot to route items into chests for storage. This can be a great option to sort your chests by wood types or just to gather a larger collection.
Bonsai Requirements
Each of the various bonsai trees have different growth requirements for soil or other blocks that they grow on. You are able to grow all trees, coral, and even plants from the Nether or End.
Plant Type | Required Block/Item |
---|---|
Any Sapling | Grass or Dirt Blocks |
Any Coral Type | Water Bucket |
Red or Brown Mushrooms | Mycelium Blocks |
Warped Fungus | Warped Nylium Blocks |
Crimson Fungus | Crimson Nylium Blocks |
Chorus Fruit | End Stone Blocks |
Conclusion
After that, you now know how to install Bonsai Trees and get started with its various features and upgrades. You can even add your own twist and dye the bonsai pot to any color you desire. Once you have added the upgrades, a majority of the plants will provide 2-3 logs every 10 seconds. This will add up over time, meaning you will almost never need to worry about gathering wood again. This is beneficial in gamemodes like Cave Block or even in addition to item sorting mods. With the number of possibilities it provides with just a single block, it’s no wonder that the mod is so popular. You are now ready to jump right into your world and grow new plants with Bonsai Trees!
