Minecraft is a beautiful game with many biomes, and a large part of the appeal is how diverse the landscapes can really be. Dozens upon dozens of different environments end up in a truly varied experience. No world is similar to another, and it’s a staple of the series, but sometimes we just want more. Welcome Biomes O’ Plenty, the largest and most epic mod which adds unique biomes for the Overworld and Nether which contain new trees, plants, blocks, and so much more. Today, we’re going to cover some pretty sights added by Biomes O’ Plenty along with how to download and install the mod. Let’s begin.
Summary
Biomes O’ Plenty is a mod that heavily affects world generation by introducing dozens of new biomes into the world. It was made by Forstride and TheAdubbz with mascot credit given to GlitchfiendMods. This is a fairly intensive move on a technical level, so it’s not recommended to play with low end systems. If you’re playing on a server, there are configuration changes you can make to better performance.
Once you start your world, get ready to explore an entirely new Minecraft that looks totally refreshing! With over 50 million downloads and one of the biggest reputations in modded Minecraft, you’ll definitely enjoy it.

Gameplay
All around, Biomes O’ Plenty does not play any differently from vanilla Minecraft. Because there are so many new biomes, there is a genuine feeling of variety and wonder in finding them all for the first time, just like when you first played Minecraft. Here’s some examples of some awesome looking biomes you can expect to see in your journeys.
Conclusion
That’s all there is to it! Not that it isn’t a lot. Biomes O’ Plenty is a massive mod, not in its complexity, but in the sheer amount of content. My favorite part about it is all the different types of trees and wood. They’re very fitting and Vanilla feeling. In any case, I hope this guide helped you. With that said, have a great day!
Common Issues
Server is crashing on startup:
This can be due to multiple issues. Most commonly this is caused by a duplicate mod, missing dependency mods, or incorrect mod versions. Biomes has no dependencies.
Server is stuck loading:
Many times when modifying the server, the server will need to be confirmed before it will fully start. This happens a lot especially when you remove or add mods. Most of the time in console, you will see Missing Mod ID’s errors. All you need to do to resolve this is type /fml confirm in console.
Duplicate Mods:
You can detect a duplicate mod from the console pretty easily. You will see an error that says “Duplicate Mods” with the mod name listed underneath it. Simply go into the FTP File Access, the mods folder, and delete the extra mod.
Missing Dependency:
To detect if you have a missing dependency mod, head into the console where you will see an error code that reads something similar to The mod NEI (Not Enough Items) requires mod [JEI] to be available From this error, we can see that the missing mod is JEI. You will need to add the mod into the server in order for the server to work again.
Incorrect Mod Version:
Detecting if the mod is the incorrect version is pretty easy. It will almost always display an error stating that it is for a different version of Forge. It will look similar to File jei_1.12.2-4.15.0.268.jar is for an older version of Forge and cannot be loaded. If you have this issue, make sure that the mod you are using has an update for the version of Forge you are running. If it doesn’t, then you won’t be able to use the mod on your server.
