Overview

Every now and then I like to take a step back from all of the tutorials, overviews, and typical Apex Hosting content and show off something truly creative. Minecraft has always been a game about expressing yourself with your own creativity, building structures, machines, or whatever interests you to show off your skill. Unfortunately, we find ourselves uninspired, burnt out, or lacking imagination. Today, I’d like to spark your creativity once more by showing you some awesome builds in the form of the best Minecraft castles that I could find. Let’s dive right in.

Best Castles

As always, this list is in no particular order. It’s just a few epic castles which we enjoyed checking out, so enjoy!

Nameless Castle

Nameless castle – Despite what you may think, this castle does have a very clear name. ‘Nameless castle’ that contains a massive castle protruding from a mountaintop. The castle houses a great tree that grows from the center of the structure, which really gives this otherwise gray castle an identity. Also, I am particularly fond of the greek style roofs and rectangular towers. Overall, this is a great build!

Hogwarts in Minecraft

Hogwarts – Attend Hogwarts! With this beautifully interpreted map of the school of witchcraft and wizardry, you and up to four friends can fight and explore the wizarding world! Up to four players can join in on this awesome gothic-style castle complex that goes on for what seems like an indefinite distance. This map also comes with custom models, animations, textures, and so much more. If anything, it is the most impressive modern Minecraft map ever created!

Conquest Reforged

Conquest Reforged – Conquest Reforged is an aesthetic Minecraft mod and resource pack which was developed to enhance the creative Minecraft experience and push builds far beyond the base limitations of the game. But part of Conquest Reforged is an absolutely impressive build which is more of a city than a castle. On top of being the largest, most expansive castle on the list with dozens of towers, chapels, houses, full interiors, and more, it was all done using a custom resource pack. Incredibly beautiful builds here.

Kargeth

KARGETH – Kargeth is a pretty typical yet enjoyable medieval landscape characterized by various cities, towns, villages, and much more. The long-term goal of this world was to turn it into an RPG map, but it works perfectly fine as a normal medieval map. The main gates of the castle walls are the highlight for me, as I feel they would work well with any project. Not necessarily as ambitious as the others, but it works well.

Halion

Halion – A build painstakingly built over the course of 1000+ hours by the dedicated group of Gazamo. This build includes 6 districts, 196 buildings (all with interiors), multiple organics, 10 ships, 2 airships, and many hidden secrets. Over 190 million blocks were used, and Halion is one of the largest builds made by the team. To me, this map gives off a fantasy feel, with a unique landscape providing foundation for the beautiful architecture. The streets and structures all meld together seamlessly, and the central castle is simply gorgeous. This map has great focus on the ornate aspects of building.

Vitruvian Castle

Vitruvian Castle – Although the smallest, this is the most accessible castle. It doesn’t have massive cascading mountains or a surrounding city, but Vitruvian castle is a lovely 19th-century revival renaissance castle, inspired mainly by Castle Peles in Romania. This castle gets its namesake from the Vitruvian City as well. This is a great build.

Conclusion

That’s it! Castles are pretty cliche, but I feel that they are the perfect medium for builders and build teams to express their creativity. Everyone loves castles, and there are so many different styles that can be done. If anything, they are great inspiration for others to work on their own projects. I hope that you enjoyed checking out these awesome builds, and with that, I’m out!
