Overview
In the vast world of vanilla Minecraft, animals and mobs are found almost everywhere. From the fish in the oceans to the cows on land, each animal has their own use in your survival adventure. While mobs are often added throughout the game’s various updates, many find that there are not nearly enough as there could be, leading mod developers to take charge. Introducing Alex’s Mobs, a Minecraft mod that adds 80 new creatures to your world. From seagulls to whales, you will find something new anywhere you go. In addition to the mobs, there are various drops and items added to find and craft for use. Adding mods to your Minecraft server is simple with our panel uploader, so we have created this guide to help you get started.

Getting Started
Upon first spawning in, you will find the Animal Dictionary book in your inventory. Within this book you can find all available mobs added through this mod, as well as information about each of them. This may detail their behavior, foods, and even how to tame them. There are many creatures to find, so consider reading about them ahead of time.
New Animals
There are many new animals added through this mod, with some being normal and others appearing more mythical. Each animal has their own unique behavior, drops, and much more!
Cachalot Whale
This neutral whale lives in the ocean and is often found hunting squid. During thunderstorms, Cachalot Whales may beach themselves and require player assistance. If rescued, the whale may provide Ambergris as a reward, which can be sold to fishermen villagers for emeralds or to craft an Echolocator.
Seagull
These pesky birds are normally found on beaches throughout your world. They are capable of stealing food items from both your hand and hotbar, as well as eating food on the ground. If a seagull has a map, you can bribe it with a Lobster Tail to lead you towards the chest.
Elephants
Elephants are giant mammals that roam around in great herds, often being calves, tusked, or non-tusked. Tusked elephants are significantly stronger and feature a charge attack. Babies and non-tusked elephants can be tamed, allowing you to ride on them or add a chest.
Grizzly Bear
These large omnivores are mainly found in forest biomes with a cub or two. Keep your distance though, as they become hostile when approached. If a Grizzly Bear has recently eaten honey, it will be safe to approach, allowing you to potentially tame it with salmon.
Comb Jelly
The Comb Jelly is a simplistic creature that is found in frozen oceans at night, where its beautiful colors contrast with the deep blues. After slaying the creature, you may obtain Rainbow Jelly, which can be used on other mobs or yourself to add a flashing rainbow pattern.
Sunbird
This majestic crane is found soaring above the tallest mountains and is completely passive. By reaching it, you will receive a blessing that improves Elytra flight and will allow you to float up and down. If it is attacked, you will be cursed to fall swiftly to your demise. No undead enemies can approach this holy bird or they will burst into flames.
Common Issues
I receive an error when joining the server:
More often than not, this is caused by a missing mod or by having mismatched versions. If a specific mod error is provided, simply adjust your installation to match the requirements. Otherwise, ensure the server and client is running the same version of the mod or Forge. After this has been adjusted, restart both the server and your own game, then try to connect once again.
The game provides an error when starting:
If the game is throwing an error when starting up on either the server or client, this is often caused by a missing mod dependency. Alex’s Mobs requires Citadel to work, so ensure that the matching mod version is installed on both instances of the game. Once this has been adjusted, restart the server and your game, then connect once again.
