Getting Started
Now that you have the mod installed, you can begin working with the new blocks that the mod adds.
In-Game Controls
The storage drawers are similar to item frames, meaning there is no menu to open like a chest. Instead, everything is managed through the following controls:
Right-Click – Insert full stack in hand into the drawer.
Double-Right-Click – Insert all compatible stacks in inventory into the drawer.
Left-Click– Remove a single item from the drawer.
Shift+Left-Click – Remove a full stack from the drawer.
Shift+Right-Click with an empty hand – Open a UI to see the exact item counts and manage upgrades.
New Blocks and Items
The first blocks are full drawers, which can store either 1, 2, or 4 types of items at once.
Half drawers are similar, however they are only half the size, similar to a vertical slab.
These helpful drawers auto-convert items, changing coal into coal blocks and more. You can then remove the items in its original or converted form.
This special block can search for any connected drawers within 12 blocks, then connect them into one large storage area. This allows you to auto-deposit items to their correct drawers by right-clicking the controller, using hoppers, or even other modded items.
This is an extension of the controller, allowing you to have more connection points using hoppers, pipes, or other item-transport mods.
This mod also allows the use of upgrades, which can dramatically adjust the way this mod works. Whether you add a redstone signal upgrade, increase the storage, or even turn it into an infinite vending machine, upgrades can achieve all of this and more.
Conclusion
With that, you should now know how to install Storage Drawers, as well as some knowledge of how the blocks work. This mod can be a lifesaver when you are working with a large amount of items, especially stone or dirt. Whether you use the mod to have a compact, aesthetically-pleasing storage method or plan to connect it to item transportation mods, all of this is possible with the use of Storage Drawers. Gear up, store your items, and get ready to set off on an adventure with the Storage Drawers mod!
Common Issues
My server isn’t starting up after adding the mod:
Oftentimes, the main reason for this is caused by an issue with the installation. Make sure that your server is running the same Forge version as your mods. Otherwise, make sure no other mods from different versions are present, as this can cause a crash.
My existing world isn’t working with the mod:
If you want to use an existing world with these mods, ensure that the mods are compatible with the same version as the world. Worlds are not forwards-compatible, meaning a 1.16 world with the 1.12 mods version can cause issues.
The items aren’t working on the server:
Oftentimes, this is happening because the mods are not installed on the server correctly or the server was not restarted after adding the mods. Ensure that the server is running Forge and that the mods .jar files are uploaded directly into the mods
folder. If it is uploaded anywhere else, it will not work.
I get an error when joining the server:
This can occur if the mods are installed on the server, but not your own game. Make sure that you installed Forge on your own computer as well, as all players will need the mods installed on their own client in order to join and play.
