Overview

When playing vanilla Minecraft, you may notice the game is focused on progression. You begin with nothing, then work your way up to get the best tools, build larger bases, and eventually fight bosses. After playing for a long time, you may find that vanilla is very repetitive, as there are a limited number of items and blocks to work with. Introducing FTB Revelation, a modpack dedicated to adding more progression to the game. Whether you are new or familiar with modding, this is a great pack to play. With Apex Hosting, installing a FTB Revelation server is very easy, so today we will show you how to get started.

Summary

FTB Revelations is owned by FTB and developed by tfox83. With over 3 million downloads across multiple platforms, it is a very popular modpack and featured on the FTB app. Revelation is an all-purpose modpack, focusing on a large variety of playstyles, rather than a single theme. With well over 200 mods focusing on gameplay, stability, and performance, this is a great modpack for beginners or those wanting to expand their progression.

How to Get Started

Upon first spawning in, you may notice some new changes around the world in the form of structures or new mobs. Here are some that you find:

World Changes

Crash Sites
FTB Revelation Crash

Located around the world, you may notice large meteorite-looking crash sites. These can have scattered stone or even lava surrounding it.

Floating Islands
FTB Revelation Floating Island

High above the clouds, you may catch a glimpse of a floating island. These often have blue slimes jumping around and are quite pretty.

Different Biomes
FTB Revelation Biomes

If you’re using the Biomes O’ Plenty mod, you may find a wide variety of different biomes. An example of this will be new forests to explore.

New Villages
FTB Revelation New Village

Finding a village is always fun, but now there are new villager types and even new buildings to go with them. Some of them look very detailed in comparison to the vanilla houses.

Added Mobs

Blitz
FTB Revelation Blitz

Similar to the fire-based Blaze, the Blitz is an air-based enemy. They will attack with air bolts that will deal damage and give the nausea effect.

Ashen
FTB Revelation Ashen

The Ashen is a skeleton-type enemy that is hostile against players. It has the same health as a skeleton, but the arrows will inflict blindness for a few seconds.

Wraith
FTB Revelation Wraith

The Wraith is a hostile mob native to the Nether. It will inflict slowless II on the player for a few seconds when hit, so be weary.

Eldritch Guardian
FTB Revelation Eldritch

The Eldritch Guardian is a hostile enemy that will attack players when progressing in the Thaumcraft mod. This creature will summon fog all around you and has a wide range of melee and ranged attacks.

Eldritch Warden
FTB Revelation Eldritch

This boss enemy, the Eldritch Warden is the evolved version of the Eldritch Guardian. This creature rises from the floor with 100 hearts, plus a shield. It can hit hard with a variety of attacks, so you will want to tread carefully.

Ur-Ghast
FTB Revelation Ghast

Native to the Twilight Forest, the Ur-Ghast is a boss-type enemy. With 125 hearts, it will be troublesome to beat. It will use fireball attacks, ghast tears, and can even summon smaller ghastlings.

Conclusion

Overall, there are many new changes and mobs added to the world right away. Even existing dimensions, such as the Nether will have new mobs to find and explore. The FTB Revelation modpack expands the game progression, so that the vanilla Minecraft gameplay is a fraction of the overall world you have to explore. Whether you decide to defeat all the bosses, learn the ways of Thaumcraft magic, or build massive bases through tech, Revelation has you covered. Now that you know how to install this modpack, you can begin the adventure for yourself!

Common Issues

I get an error when joining the server:
Often, if a player is unable to join the server, it is because the modpack isn’t properly installed on your own computer. Ensure you are using the official FTB Revelation modpack from FTB to have all of the proper mods installed to join the server.

My server is stuck loading:
This often happens when a mod is removed from an existing world. You can force the world to load by going to the server console and entering /fml confirm. That should then load the world with the missing mods removed.

Modded items aren’t spawning in the server:
If the mods appear in the creative menu but are not properly appearing on the server, it often means the server is not properly using the modpack. Ensure that the server was switched to FTB Revelation through the panel and restarted to load it up.
