While hosting your Minecraft server, you may want to begin selling items to players in exchange for money. This is common for owners to do, as it costs money to run dedicated hardware for your community. If you’re brand new to the scene, then you may not be familiar with monetizing your Minecraft server. Don’t worry, we got you covered! Introducing Tebex, a preinstalled service on our panel that allows you to create webstores to sell goods. Whether you’re offering a rank, certain abilities, or items, there’s plenty of possibilities with this software. It’s not only limited to one-time purchases either, as you can provide subscriptions to your players to upkeep the server’s cost. In some cases, you can even make some profit! We’ll teach you the basics of making money on your game server in this Apex Hosting blog. Let’s get started!
Alright, so there’s a bit of preparation involved before making some dough. In other words, you have to set up an account with Tebex and create your webstore, then make packages for sale to earn money. This process can take anywhere from a single day to many, depending on your desired goals. It’s always best to have small packages for the average player, while also offering higher items for others. This allows you to get the most out of your webstore, which provides you the means to track all purchases.
There’s even discounts, gift cards, and sales that you can implement to entice players to buy packages.
Tebex offers you some themes and styles for the webstore, but also gives you the opportunity to make your own. For example, custom HTML and CSS can be injected into your website to overhaul the appearance of it. This might be too complicated for some, but is nonetheless possible! Once you’re satisfied with a design, you can create several pages to display information. Whether these are for rules, in-game guides, or voting, you have countless options. This means you gotta get creative! Otherwise, you can simply have a store with all your desired packages for sale. Lots of server owners use Tebex for their Minecraft community, acting as the home for their network. Imagine having everything your players need in one place, rather than a bunch of help commands in-game.
Making packages to sell is pretty straightforward, as all you need to do is navigate through the Tebex Dashboard and begin configuring it. There’ll be a text editor for a description, then lots of other options such as prices, limitations, executable commands, and more. There’s even a way for you to integrate Discord into this software, allowing for more personalization in your community. It’s always best to stick with the basics before leaping into the more complicated stuff though. With this in mind, simply write a brief overview of your package, set the price, then set up the commands so they get their goods in-game. While doing this, there’ll be examples and variables to review to help you get started.
After successfully completing your first package, you can view it on the server! This involves you using the /buy command to open the Tebex menu, then clicking through your categories or items. Yes, you can also set an icon for it while configuring the package. This makes it easier for your players to use the menu and quickly make decisions to support your community. Keep in mind that they can directly use the website for the same process, which may be better than in-game.
It boils down to preferences, but convincing them to use your webstore is better if you have multiple resources available.
If you’re not too familiar with economics or business, then don’t worry! Tebex makes it a smooth process to upsell your goods and services on the webstore. This is achieved by simply choosing either Additional Product, Increase Quantity, and/or Alternative Product while configuring your package. These appear at the checkout, giving customers more choices to make that may lead to more money in your pocket.
A popular option to use is an alternative product, such as a higher rank than what they’ve selected or something else complementary to it. Sales tactics are important to understand, with most of the learning happening through trial and error. Figure out what works best on your Minecraft server and keep it!
It wouldn’t be making money if you couldn’t withdraw it into your bank account. Luckily, Tebex makes it super easy for you to do this on your webstore. There’s a separate Wallet area that you can set up and use for this process. The methods for receiving funds include a direct deposit, wire transfer, and PayPal. Choose one of these and enter valid information, then simply click Request Withdraw to get your money! This takes around 1-3 business days, but may be longer depending on the situation. Regardless, you can sit back and wait until you receive that sweet email saying funds are on the way.
You have the power and ability to make some profit off your Minecraft server, while offering extra content or features to your players. Whether it’s a rank or in-game item, you have tons of possibilities with a webstore. At this point, get creative and begin monetizing your game server! Of course, you’ll need to purchase a Minecraft server from us beforehand if you don’t already own one. This can also be manually set up for other games too, like ARK: Survival Evolved. In the future, we may provide this Tebex feature so you don’t have to worry about too many configurations. Besides this, we hope this blog helped you learn more about making money with servers. Have a good one, gamers!
