Overview
Throughout Minecraft, locating or constructing villages can be an entertaining pastime for both aesthetics or to feel a sense of completion. Normally, you would be responsible for constructing all of the buildings yourself and the villagers would act no different from their original placement. This all changes with MineColonies, an interactive building mod that features many custom structures and unique job opportunities for the NPCs that live in your town. Use varying palettes, build houses, jobs, and guard towers to improve functionality and interaction between the townsfolk. With Apex Hosting, installing a mod is as simple as using our panel upload function, so this tutorial will guide you through the steps to install and get started with MineColonies.

How to Get Started
Upon first spawning in, nothing will be different right away. You must first construct an outpost that allows you to obtain the necessary tools.
Supply Camp and Ship
One of the first items you will need to craft is either the supply camp or supply ship. Both of these have the same result, however one is meant for large bodies of water, while the other is meant for flat land. Using either boats or chests, craft whichever one works for you
Learning the Placement Controls
Upon attempting to use either supply item on a block, a new GUI will appear. This GUI will allow you to change the palette of blocks, as well as allow you to move and rotate the supply structure to your preferred preference. If visibility is not great, you can press Escape to close the menu, then right-click the item to re-open the GUI. Once you are ready, press the green box to place the structure.
Gathering your Tools
With either your supply camp or ship placed, you can now enter it to find a chest. This chest will have the two most important tools in this mod, the build tool and the town hall. Take both of these items, then find the location where you wish to begin your town.
The Build Tool
When you are ready to place your town hall, interact with the build tool in your hand to open the previous GUI menu. Select townhall in the top-left box, then use the middle box to choose the style. Optionally, you can use the top-right box to see the various upgrade levels. Like before, position the building, then press the green box.
Creating the Colony
This time, the structure will not immediately appear, leaving just the town hall block. Right-click the block, then press Create Colony to begin. Within a few minutes, your first 4 citizens will spawn, allowing you to truly begin.
Builders Hut
In order to build your town hall and all other structures, you will first need to craft and place the builder’s hut. This block will allow you to manage workers, then use the Build Options to start creating the hut.
Conclusion
From here, you can visit the MineColonies Wiki page in order to view all of the available huts that can be made for your town. As you continue to expand, you may find yourself being bottlenecked and need to upgrade further huts. In order to increase construction speeds, you will need more workers, but will need citizen houses to increase population. It can be difficult to get started as you will need to provide tools, food, and items to your workers manually, but overtime everything can be automated and optimized. With the newfound knowledge of how to install MineColonies and get started, you can begin creating your empire!
