Overview
Playing CS:GO online can be both fun and entertaining, whether you are teaming up with your friends or playing with randoms, there is plenty of gameplay to experience. However if you are playing the same map for a prolonged amount of time, you may be interested in changing the map to something new. There are different maps depending on each gamemode, so Dust II can be played on casual, but not Arms Race. With Apex Hosting, switching your CS:GO map is very easy, so today we will show you how to change the map on your CS:GO server.
In-Game Method
- While in-game, press the escape key to open the menu.
- Press the
Call Vote
button on the right-hand side. - Select the
Change Map…
option, then select the desired map. - If the vote is successful, the map will instantly change.
Server Console Method
- Navigate to your Apex Server Panel.
- Access the
Console
section on the left-hand side. - In the console bar, enter in changelevel [Map CodeName]
e.g.
changelevel de_inferno
The server should then change the map instantly.
Map Name List
You can find all maps and the map code names at this site. Here you can find all maps names, as well as which game modes they are compatible with.
Server Customizations Method
- Navigate to your Apex Server Panel, then stop the server.
- Access
Customizations
on the left, then locate theMap
option. - Open the dropdown, then choose the desired map.
- Once selected, return to the main panel page then start the server.
The map should now be changed once it is back online and be ready to play!
Common Issues
My map isn’t changing after using the command:
Ensure that both the command and map name is spelled exactly as seen on the site linked above, otherwise it may not work. If issues are still occurring, make sure that the selected gamemode does not conflict with the map.
The map changes back after a restart:
This can be caused by the option in the server customizations tab. If the server map is reverting, try accessing the panel, find the customizations tab, then change the map dropdown through there. The selected map should become the default one after a restart.
