Satisfactory Admin Password

Overview

When playing on a Satisfactory server, adjusting settings is a massive part of owning the server. From changing server passwords to uploading worlds, there are many abilities that an owner has. In order to perform these actions, you must configure and have access to your admin password. Over time, you may wish to change the password to increase memorability or remove access from previous administrators. Knowing how to change the Satisfactory server password can be confusing for unfamiliar players, so we have created this Apex Hosting guide to ease you through the steps.

Changing the Admin Password

  1. Launch Satisfactory from your desired platform.
  2. From the main menu, select Server Manager.
    Manager
  3. Locate your server, then authenticate as needed.
  4. In the top menu, select the Server Settings tab.
    Settings
  5. Press the Change Password button next to the Administration Password text.
  6. Enter and confirm the desired admin password, then press Confirm.

  7. Navigate to the Apex Server Panel, then restart the server.

Your Satisfactory server will now restart and require the new admin password upon the completed restart.

Common Issues

The password did not change:
Oftentimes, this is caused by the server not properly saving and restarting with the new password. First, return to the server settings tab on Satisfactory and ensure the administrator password is changed to your desired one. Afterwards, visit the Apex Server Panel and ensure the server is properly restarted. After this, the password should change to the required one.

I don’t remember my admin password:
If you do not remember the admin password, you will need to remove the existing server settings and reconfigure the server from scratch. First, navigate to the Apex panel and stop the server. Then in the FTP File Access, navigate to /.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/. Here, select the ServerSettings.xxxxx file and delete it. You can now restart the server and perform the initial setup.
