How to Add a Map Cycle to a Counter-Strike 2 Server

Running your own Counter-Strike 2 server gives you complete freedom over the gameplay experience, but manually swapping maps after every match can quickly break the action. Setting up an automated map cycle ensures your server seamlessly transitions between iconic competitive battlegrounds, fast-paced Arms Race arenas, and custom workshop favorites without any admin intervention. Creating a Map Cycle

  1. Head towards your Apex server panel and stop the server.
  2. Navigate to File Management > FTP File Access on the left.

  3. Enter the …/game/csgo directory.
  4. Right-click csgo and select New File.

  5. Name it “mapcycle.txt” and click Create File.

  6. Locate it, then double-click it to open the editor.
  7. Begin entering the Map IDs you want in rotation.

  8. When you’re finished, click Save at the bottom.
  9. Return to the main panel and start up the server.
