Cottage Witch Modpack

Cottage Witch is a complete modpack with more than 300 mods, designed to let you live as a witch in Minecraft. The pack covers potions, enchantments, building, decoration, cooking, farming, and a full quest system that walks you through the content step by step. It runs on Minecraft Forge 1.19.2 and targets mid-range computers, with 6-8 GB of RAM recommended. Below is a breakdown of what each major area of the pack offers.

Getting Started

When you first join a Cottage Witch server, you spawn near a floating city or underneath one. These cities have buildings to loot and give you your first resources. Your starting inventory includes five items: a quest book, a small knife, five sandwiches, and a book of spells that fires projectiles. The quest book opens your first objectives right away, pointing you toward shelter, basic gear, and early protection before you head out to explore.

Getting started items

Quest, Magic and Mysticism

Quest system

The quest system in Cottage Witch is split into five main categories: Basics, Homesteading, Magic and the Arcane, Exploration, and Collecting. Each category has at least three subsections, and each subsection contains more than ten individual quests. Completing quests rewards you with useful items and guides you through the pack’s core progression, which means you spend less time wondering what to do next and more time actually doing it. The magic systems in the pack are built around potion-making, spell casting, and enchanting, all of which deepen the witch theme.

Building and Decorating

Cottage Witch includes over 27 mods focused on construction and decoration. You can create new styles of doors, windows, and shelves, and place furniture, lighting, and decorations that fit the witchy aesthetic. One standout mod is Prefab, which lets you place pre-built structures with a single click. This makes it easy to establish a home base quickly, then customize it over time. Whether you want a cozy cottage in the woods or a tower overlooking a magical biome, the building tools give you enough variety to make it feel personal.

Gardening, Farming and Cooking

Little garden

Around 16 mods in Cottage Witch are dedicated to farming, cooking, and growing. Farmer’s Delight forms the backbone of the cooking system, adding new crops, kitchen tools, and recipes that go well beyond vanilla Minecraft food. On top of that, Cottage Witch includes food-focused mods like Abnormal Delight, Brewin and Chewin, and Chef’s Delight, each adding specific ingredients and dishes. Growing your own food and cooking it properly is part of the witchcraft experience, and the farming systems make it feel meaningful rather than a side task.

Environment

Cottage Witch gives you a world with 72 different biomes across the Overworld, the Nether, and the End, powered by more than 20 world generation mods. Each biome has its own look, its own creatures, and its own structures to find. New wildlife includes raccoons, ducks, crows, whales, seals, and more, with around 15 mods handling creature additions and improvements in total. Beyond vanilla enemies, you will encounter new hostile mobs adapted to the biomes they inhabit, which keeps exploration unpredictable.

Throughout the world, you will find upgraded villages and Pillager Outposts, and entirely new structures like castles and flying villages. Searching these buildings rewards you with materials and items that support your progression in the pack.

Quest to the End

Cottage witch quest to the end

The End in Cottage Witch uses the End Remastered mod, which changes how you open the End portal. Instead of blaze powder and Ender eyes, you must collect a set of special eyes, each found in a different biome or structure that generates randomly around the world. Once you gather all of them, you can activate the End portal and face the Ender Dragon. After defeating the Dragon, Oh The Biomes You’ll Go fills the End dimension with additional biomes and challenges, so there is still plenty to explore after the main fight.

Adventure With Friends

Running a Cottage Witch server gives you and your friends a shared world full of quests, exploration, and building to work through together. The pack is large enough that different players can focus on different systems: one person manages the farm, another handles enchanting, and a third explores the new biomes, without anyone feeling like they are doubling up. If you run into any issues setting up your server, our support team is available around the clock to help. You can also browse our full modpack server list to see other packs worth trying.
