Adjusting the server name is easy with Apex Hosting’s config files page, so we have written this tutorial to show you how to get started.
Adjusting the Server Name
- Navigate to your Apex Server Panel, then log in.
- Stop the server and ensure it is fully offline.
- In the left-hand menu, proceed to the
Config Filestab, followed byServer Config. - Here, locate the
hostnamefield. - Between the quotation marks, type in your desired server name.
- Once complete, press the
Savebutton at the top of the page. - Afterwards, return to the main panel page, then restart the server.
Server Changes
The server will now start up, allowing these changes to take effect on your server. Once online, players will be able to see your new server name in a few different locations.
Viewing the Name In-Game
One of the first locations you’ll be able to view the server name is in the game’s server browser. Alongside this information, you’ll be able to see the difficulty, map, if Anti-Cheat is required, and much more.

Alternatively, the server name can also be found within the Steam server browser. Here you will also be able to view the number of players, current map, and more.
