Overview
When playing vanilla Minecraft, building is a massive part of the gameplay. However after some time, you may find using the same materials monotonous and desire more to work with in order to have significantly more details. Introducing Chisels & Bits, a mod that allows you to create and place tiny chunks of a block, allowing for many hand-made decorations. Installing a mod can be tedious if you are unfamiliar with the process, so we have created this Apex Hosting guide to ease you through the installation.

Getting Started
Now that you have the mod installed, you can get started with the mod with the following:
Getting a Chisel
The first tool you will need to create is the chisel. This simple recipe requires only a single stick and 1 main material such as gold. The easiest chisel is made of stone, with the best being either diamond or netherite based on your version.
The better the material, the more durability it has. There is stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite depending on the version.
Introduction to Bits
Once you have your chisel, it is time to begin collecting bits. When you hold the chisel, you should see a smaller square when looking at a block. Simply break the block like normal, to begin collecting bits.
From there, you can hold the bits in your hand in order to place them back down in any shape you desire.
Chisel Modes
Placing blocks one-by-one can become tedious, so the mod also includes several chisel modes on both the bits and the chisel itself. The default keybind for this is often Alt or R by default. Some of these modes include:
Often the default, the cube allows players to place different sizes from a single bit
The plane allows for different thicknesses of a variety of blocks. This is great for creating custom floor tiles or even turning any blocks into slabs
The line also allows for varying thickness through the blocks to make it wider or narrower. This can be helpful for creating pipes, railing, or even rope for a swing.
Conclusion
With that, you should now have Chisels & Bits installed and know how to get started. This mod can be used for simple adjustments or insanely massive details. Players may use it for detailed staircases, signs, brides, or even make an entire house out of it. With the ability to use almost any block, vanilla or modded, Chisels & Bits has the potential to create some of the most amazing creations you have seen. Now that you know how to use the mod, gear up and get ready to create your own masterpiece.
Common Issues
My server isn’t starting up after adding the mod:
Oftentimes, the main reason for this is caused by an issue with the installation. Make sure that your server is running the same Forge version as your mods. Otherwise, make sure no other mods from different versions are present, as this can cause a crash.
My existing world isn’t working with the mod:
If you want to use an existing world with these mods, ensure that the mods are compatible with the same version as the world. Worlds are not forwards-compatible, meaning a 1.16 world with the 1.12 mods version can cause issues.
The items aren’t working on the server:
Oftentimes, this is happening because the mods are not installed on the server correctly or the server was not restarted after adding the mods. Ensure that the server is running Forge and that the mods .jar files are uploaded directly into the “mods” folder. If it is uploaded anywhere else, it will not work.
I get an error when joining the server:
This can occur if the mods are installed on the server, but not your own game. Make sure that you installed Forge on your own computer as well, as all players will need the mods installed on their own client in order to join and play.
