Deepworks Dungeon & The Guttering Hollows
The journey begins at the Forgotten Temple, where players discover a newly established Goblin Lab. You can upgrade and repair various machines to aid your progression. While the temple serves as your primary base of research, stepping into the Guttering Hollows requires tracking down a dynamic Goblin Breach out in the world or you craft portal fragments to access the instanced realm directly.
Inside the Guttering Hollows lies an unstable fragment of Orbis claimed by the goblin faction. This realm regenerates upon every visit as the creeping Void steadily closes in. The pressure builds fast: you must harvest Voidhearts, track dangerous predators, and solve environmental puzzles before the Void completely overruns the zone and expels your party.
Beyond the Hollows lies The Deepworks, Hytale’s first fully handcrafted dungeon, accessible via a special fragment crafted in the Goblin Lab. Your party will need to navigate hazardous corridors, dodge rolling fire traps, solve puzzles, and battle waves of goblins. Surviving these gauntlets leads to two major encounters: the agile Elite Goblin Feastmaster mini-boss, and the Gobliterator final boss.
The Runestone Ability System
Combat receives a complete overhaul with the introduction of the Runestone Ability System. By utilizing a Runebinder Lattice, players can equip up to two active Ability Runestones, such as:
- Fireball: Hurl explosive magic at groups of targets.
- Wind Strike: Unleash swift, piercing gusts.
- Imbue Poison: Coat your offensive strikes in lingering venom.
- Chain Hook: Reel in distant adversaries or close the gap quickly.
- Ground Slam: Disrupt the battlefield with a concussive shockwave.
You can customize these abilities further using Modifier Runestones. These allow you to fork projectiles into clusters, cause spells to bounce between enemies, apply draining wither effects, or trade raw damage output for significantly faster cooldowns. This mana-driven system unlocks limitless build crafting potential for tanks, damage dealers, and support roles alike.
Scrappy Goblin Gadgets
The goblins have brought a workshop of chaotic contraptions, crafted directly at the Goblin Lab. Players can construct several inventive tools to navigate and survive the hazards of Orbis:
- Rocket Boots: Grants an acrobatic double jump for tight platforming.
- Scrap Gliders: Enables gliding, diving, and soaring across deep chasms while managing stamina.
- Hookshots: Rapidly zip between Hook Anchors across vertical terrain.
- Scrap Drills: Mine through full 2×2 block clusters at once for high-speed excavation.

Matchmaking Minigames
If you need a break from crawling through dungeons, official matchmaking activities are now accessible directly from the main menu. You can queue solo or bring your entire party into two distinct modes:
- Prop Hunt: Set in a bustling tavern where Props disguise themselves as barrels, tankards, or furniture while Hunters scour the rooms to hunt them down.
- Shuffle Jam: A high-energy rotation of twelve microgames, including Lavablocks, Color Party, and Memory Floor, awarding victory stars after each fast-paced round.
