Good day to you all! Welcome to the 67th week of our weekly news. I hope you’ve been patiently waiting, because we have yet another snapshot ready for the reading, so let’s get right into it. Experimental snapshot 7 of 1.18 dropped and it will most likely be the final test snapshot for the update.
The reason I make that claim is because it is incredibly tiny. Only seven changes in total, Noodle caves can generate at any height, and are no longer capped at y 130. Elytra doesn’t take durability damage when gliding, only when using rockets. Now, users may not feel like Mending is required to wear the wings, especially with taller mountains to soar from. Elytra rocket boost is slightly weaker, so you can’t fly as fast with rockets. This apparently has been done to force players to consider other means of transport. Lastly, some parts of the terrain are slightly smoother. That’s about it. If you’d like, you can read the official changelog for more information.
Cream of the crop, as they say.
Daniel – Daniel refuses to cooperate, since it’s too early. How rude!
Kyle – Kyle correctly states how if you never went to sleep, it’s basically evening. I agree!
Santiago – Santiago finished programming a project, so he’s feeling pretty good about that. He now has more things to do.
Aaron – Aaron was sick recently, so I wish him the best health!
Dave – I watched a terribly sad show, and I am in pain. I will do my best to feel better.
Lloyd – Lloyd has played a lot of Pavlov lately, and that’s pretty cool!
server.cfg
now generates as an empty file and is shown on the Config Files pageWe haven’t had a community spotlight in a while due to all the changelogs and things happening with our other games, but I needed to share this gem! Someone has managed (or is managing) to have a working, playable Super Mario 64 engine in Minecraft!
Posted by u/dylanpdx on Reddit, you can see Mario jumping around, being hurt by lava, and even using iron bars to hang and climb around. This is truly an amazing feat, and it cannot be understated how many things this unlocks if completed! You can watch the video showcasing the mod on Dylan’s reddit.
Welp, that’s all there is to look over this week. I’m starting to get back into the swing of things, so I hope y’all appreciate today’s blog. We saw Minecraft get a new, and possibly its last snapshot for 1.18. A man can only hope! The Apex crew is doing great as ever, so I’m happy for them. As for the community spotlight, it’s only like one of the coolest things I’ve experienced as of late, nothing special. In any case, that’s all I have for you, so have a great week!
