Ok, no introduction needed! Let’s just go over what I know you all probably have already heard. Minecraft Live 2021 has been announced, and there are a lot of mixed feelings. The Minecraft user base is going to be voting on yet another mob, but not all of the choices are open to us yet. I am conflicted when it comes to this, because although I have never personally been to Minecon, it’s unfortunate that the entire convention is now already a distant memory. Is Minecraft Live a permanent replacement? I’m not one for politics or anything, so I wouldn’t be the best to judge whether that’s what is best for everyone’s safety, but I know which event I’d prefer.
On a positive note, Minecraft Live 2021 is bound to showcase much more new content and features that are planned for the game. At the moment, the only thing we can confirm is that there will be another mob vote organized in a similar fashion, with three possible choices. The choices will be presented to the audience in the form of three small animations introducing them along with their basic functionality. At the moment, I have my eyes set on the Allay, which looks like a Vex but uncorrupted.

Control Panel Update- A brand new dark theme has been installed and is available for use on the Apex Control Panel. If you’d like to change your theme then you can do so via the Settings page -> Theme Dropdown list, like this.
Control Panel Update – We’ve adjusted the FTP Info page to include the hostname of the node your server is running on. This prevents the pesky certificate error clients were seeing when using the direct IP to connect via a secure connection.
Rust
Two weeks in a row I’ve been able to talk about this awesome game. It’s not much, but at least we have a streak going! Rust actually released a small welfare patch update in the form of multiple fixes and some changes. Now, lots of missions, cars, rewards, and unlocks are fixed.
Sharks have also had a change when determining whether players are hostile, and hot air balloons override cargoship parenting. If you would like to read more, you can check out the details on Rust’s official changelog.
Conclusion
That’s the news! Not an eventful week, but there was something genuinely interesting. Minecraft Live is going to be full of juicy content that I can wring dry with blogs! The Mob Vote looks promising, but we have yet to see all our options, and we don’t know how content creators will play a role in skewing the votes. The Apex Team is also pretty quiet today, with only a couple responses from ‘em. Lastly, Rust put out a small update. I would write more about Rust, Valheim, and Ark if they did anything special.
