Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons News

Good morning people of the internet! It’s Dave, back from vacation, and better than ever! We got some good news for you guys this week, so let’s get started. In regards to Minecraft, we don’t have any updates or snapshots to hold us over this week. We do, however, notice that the Minecraft launcher now is capable of launching Minecraft Dungeons.

launcher upgrade

The old Minecraft Dungeons launcher is being retired, and I assume that all future Minecraft IPs will be handled on the base launcher from here on. To be honest, I don’t enjoy Dungeons all that much, but for those of you who enjoy playing both games this is probably much more convenient. My hope for the future is that this unified launcher will house Windows 10 Edition as well, eventually.

Alrighty. Back from the grave, I bring you updates of utmost importance!

Robert: Robert’s only comment is stocks

Kyle: Kyle is also all up on those stocks in hope of making Lambo money. Keep dreaming!

Daniel: Daniel has ordered the last of his PC parts, but is a little disappointed he missed out on the stonks situation.

Erika: stonks! Erika has also eaten cake and bought some PC parts.

Dave: I got pneumonia, bruh.

Lloyd: Also on the stonk train, Lloyd upgraded his CPU. He claims it’ll make video editing ‘not poopy’ which is probably true.

Mojang has released a new Minecraft map dubbed a Sustainability City. This map has a relatively noble purpose of teaching players how to create a sustainable environment in the real world by giving a virtual demonstration in Minecraft. The map is a free download and offers plenty of pre-made lessons for teachers to utilize. There’s a hydro-power plant, a fully sustainable home, a forest, a farm, and many other locations that can be used to understand sustainability in a brighter light.

sustainable city

The map is actually supposed to be a creation to reflect on Microsoft’s real life goals for sustainability as a company. Even though this is the case, there is no obsessive Microsoft branding in the actual map. The map tackles some pretty interesting questions for students as well. Examples can include how your food gets from the farm to your local market, where does water outflow go from a drain, and much more. The lessons are also tweakable by the teachers to a small extent.

Conclusion

Welp, that’s all I got for you today! Minecraft doesn’t have any snapshots for me to gawk at, but they are doing some interesting things. I like the unification of Minecraft IPs in the form of a single launcher, as that makes everything simple. However, hypocritical Mojang won’t get Windows 10 Edition off of the Microsoft store, so it doesn’t matter. The Apex team is doing well for themselves, all hyped up on stocks. And lastly, Microsoft seems to be pushing the newer generation forward with a clean, self sustaining way of thinking with its newest map. What a great haul. With that said, have a great day!
