Good morning everyone, and welcome to another week of awesome news from your boy Dave! This week, Mojang brings us a brand new snapshot in the form of snapshot 21w13a, which adds some new content along with plenty of configurations. 21w13a brings us Goats!
Goats spawn in mountains, and although they are cute, don’t be misled! They will knock you right off the side of any cliff they see fit. The technical aspect of the update is also fairly large, as the caves, ore distribution, and underground biomes all receive tweaks. This on top of dozens of bug fixes concludes the snapshot, which you can read the full changelog for here.
I’m a little tired, but it wouldn’t feel right to leave you all out of the loop.
Elias: Elias has finished GTA V! I wonder what ending they got.
Nathan: Nathan just started his 3rd year at university, so good luck.
Daniel: Daniel got his third and final shelf, and he’s about to start a DIY project. I wonder what it could be. He also has finished his record player setup.
Erika: Erika has acquired a pink pusheen mousepad, so that’s pretty sweet!
Kyle: Kyle ended the March Madness tourney with a +117.88% ROI!
Sam: Stop pinging me
Lloyd: Lloyd has got a lease signed for an apartment, moving to Milwaukee.
– The Chat and FTP Log windows have been adjusted to be full page height like the current Console window.
On April 1st, 2021, Mojang played the best April Fool’s prank that they have yet. Last week, they just published a false snapshot with an odd mechanic that made weird portals, but they’ve really outdone themselves this time.
The prank starts out by explaining what they’ve been working on for the last two decades. This new project which they have dubbed ‘Minecraft Plus’ in the form of a video advertisement. The video is a little weird, and it somewhat insinuates that Minecraft Plus allows you to travel through time.
But what is Minecraft Plus in actuality? Nothing special. It’s vague and completely nuanced advertising is just for some screensavers that move, available for Windows 7 and above. Honestly, it’s overzealous video and presentation make the prank hit all that much harder. Truly hilarious.
That’s all I got for you this week, folks. Mojang blesses us with yet another snapshot after skipping a week, which is fine and dandy. It seems that as a whole 1.17 has moved toward larger, more content packed snapshots that are bi-weekly rather than smaller snapshots that release weekly. It’s a welcome change, but I preferred the old system. As for Apex, you already know what it is. Lastly, we went over Mojang’s somewhat comedic April Fool’s joke, which had some production value behind it. At worst, we got some cool screensavers. In any case, I hope you all had a good week, and have a great day!
