Hello and good morning everyone! Welcome to our weekly news blog. We’re here on week #82 with a pretty small haul of news. In regards to Minecraft, nothing much has happened to the game itself. However, Youtube had quite the announcement for the Minecraft community.
Apparently, Minecraft is the first category on Youtube to have reached one trillion views collectively when combining all views from different content creators. This is truly a remarkable feat, as it solidifies Minecraft as a cultural phenomenon rather than just a simple video game. Unlike most games, Minecraft has a significant impact that has lasted longer than a decade, and will most likely continue to do so into the future. You can read more about this achievement here.

Have you heard of the epic Steam Awards? Basically, once a year Steam allows the community, which is basically anyone with a Steam account, to vote on whether or not certain games deserve awards. There are tons of awards like game of the year, better with friends, outstanding visual style, and more.
I’m explaining all of this because Rust and Terraria have recently been nominated for the ‘Labor of Love’ award, and you should totally vote on whichever you believe should win. Now, don’t expect that neutrality from me, I’m totally voting for Rust! The game is just much more fun to me as I love the pvp engagements far more than the cooperative adventure of Terraria. In any case, cast your votes on the official Steam Awards page.
That’s the week! Minecraft (the community, not the game) has done an amazing job at solidifying its position in the pop-culture market through exploitation of young audiences through the guise of a fun block building game. I mean… congrats on all the views! The Apex team is doing lots of different things, but they’re mostly busy. Rust and Terraria are currently squaring off with three other games for the title of Labor of Love, and I can’t wait to see the winner. In any case, I wish you all the best of weeks.
