Hello and good morrow, Apex citizens! We’ve reached the highlight of your week, all your awesome gaming and server hosting news bundled up into this half decent blog! How about we get started with the Minecraft news?
Legends, it is time for yet another snapshot day! Minecraft 1.20 Pre Release 1 makes itself known! New damage types called “outside_border” and “generic_kill” have been added. The way loot tables are randomized has been changed so that the results are now predictable. There have also been encoding changes made to the server.properties file. Additionally, the data command now accepts negative boundaries for string data sources, which count from the end of the string. Also, Colored Wool, Carpets and Beds can now be dyed to any other color
Changes have also been made to the way players and entities are affected when they go outside the world border or are forcibly removed using the “/kill” command. Players outside the world border will now be hurt by a new damage type called “outside_border” instead of “in_wall.” Similarly, entities forcibly removed by the “/kill” command will now use the “generic_kill” damage type instead of “out_of_world.”
Further on, Minecraft now uses named random sequences to deterministically produce loot for loot tables. Each random sequence produces a unique sequence based on the world seed and sequence ID, which means a loot table will produce the same results when ran with the same parameters in the same world. The ID of the random sequence to use for a loot table is specified in a new field called random_sequence. These changes along with numerous bug fixes concludes the update.
The content team coming at you on your favorite day of the week, let’s go!
Kevin – Kevin wants us to play ARK a lot for some reason. I think it’s because it’s one of our most popular games. Oh well.
Dave – I am super excited about the latest Chivalry 2 update, Raiding Party! It’s super fun.
James – James was making a star wars short, and so he needed a few good builds for the video. We looked into tons of builds from Star Destroyers to ATST walkers. Dope.
So, what’s been going on with Rust? Well, a new update makes itself known with one of the most exciting updates to date bringing forth the most interesting monument.
The R.U.S.T update includes a new Nuclear Missile Silo monument with a countdown timer that leads to an event where NPC activity on the server increases, including bombing runs and infantry patrols. The update also introduces a new series of DLC building skins, with the Adobe building skin pack available for purchase in the in-game store.
Additionally, Twitch Rivals is back from May 16th to May 20th, where viewers can earn exclusive Twitch Drops by watching 160 Rust content creators compete. Overall, the update introduces new gameplay elements and incentives for players to engage with the game’s community.
