1.21.4 – Game Drop Update
In The Garden Awakens, Minecraft is officially in 1.21.4! This means we’re getting closer to 1.22, but we still have some ways to go. For the time being, we now have a brand new mob called The Creaking and biome known as The Pale Gardens. These are the main features for this game drop update, with others being primarily bug fixes or backend changes. Of course, who can’t forget about the amazing new building blocks? The new type of wood is white! This means you will have tons of design choices to choose from when creating your ideal house.
The Creaking
In The Pale Garden, distant sounds may signal the presence of The Creaking, a tree-like mob that stalks players from the shadows. Your only defense? Keep your eyes locked on it to stay alive. Defeating The Creaking isn’t straightforward – it can’t be harmed directly. Instead, you’ll need to locate and destroy its heart, hidden in a nearby tree. If you have silk touch, you can even collect the heart and use it for some mischievous fun with friends. Sadly, The Creaking doesn’t drop loot for now, though that could change with newer updates.
The Pale Gardens
In Minecraft, most biomes burst with vivid colors, but The Pale Garden breaks the mold. Here, the sky dims, the world grows eerily silent, and shades of gray dominate the landscape with subtle variations. The unsettling vibe sets it apart from anything else above ground – except maybe the Deep Dark caves. This biome features a sprawling forest filled with massive trees and hanging moss. Every block is unique, including white wood logs, adding an extra layer of mystery to this eerie environment.
New Blocks
In the new biome, you’re able to find tons of pale oak logs and make other blocks out of them. Whether they’re stairs, slabs, planks, or even a boat – it will be white! There’s also new types of moss, which can further add onto your builds. As for resources, there’s a new type: resin. This item appears after The Creaking is damaged and when you break its heart block. This resource can be used for building or trimming armor sets. It’s time to get creative and begin imagining what new designs you can implement in Minecraft!
The Future of Game Drops
More frequent updates is a wonderful way to get new content and features in Minecraft, without waiting around an entire year for one large update. These game drops will come every so often throughout the year. The system might work seasonally, meaning we’ll get a handful of them during their respective periods. For example, spring time will see a spring game drop. Although, Mojang might just surprise us with random update announcements in the future.
