Overview

In the world of Minecraft, gameplay often becomes repetitive, leading to a desire to add more to the basic gameplay. Whether it’s mods, challenge maps like skyblock, or more, these can breathe new life into the game. Introducing Agrarian Skies 2, a sequel to the original Agrarian Skies modpack that combines skyblock, hardcore, and modded items into one easy-to-access experience. With only 3 lives, saplings, and a few other items, you must create a flourishing island that provides food, resources, and more. Installing modpacks to your server is easy with the Apex Hosting one-click installer, so we have created this guide to help you get started.

Summary

Agrarian Skies 2 is a 1.7.10 modpack owned by jadedcat and developed by Tecrogue on CurseForge with over 2.3 million downloads. Start on a 3-life skyblock with only a few inventory items. Complete quests for rewards and create a massive island with various modded blocks.

How to Get Started with Agrarian Skies 2

Upon first spawning in, you will be on a small 3×3 platform made of clay and a single dirt block. You will also notice several items in your inventory, including saplings, dirt, bone meal, and 2 books. To begin, place one of your saplings down to start growing your first tree.

Introduction to Quests

Agrarian Skies 2 Quests Select

To get started with your Agrarian Skies 2 skyblock, right-click the quest book in your inventory to open the GUI. Simply navigate to Quests and open the Learning to Skyblock! questline. Click the red quest to view information on completion and rewards.

For this first quest, you will need at least one piece of oak wood. Wait or use bone meal on your tree, then chop it down to collect the wood. The quest should auto update and be marked as complete.

You can now use the small right arrow to view the second task for this quest, which is simply crafting planks. Like before, just craft some planks and it should autocomplete with a message on your screen.

From the quest screen, you can now choose to be rewarded with the Pick of Tears or the Pan of Misfortune. You can now continue with the quests to continue gathering rewards.

Getting Equipped Quest

For the next stage, we’ll be making a few blocks needed to craft some tools with Tinkers’ Construct. There are many recipes required for this quest.

Blank Pattern

Most of the recipes will require the use of blank stencils. These are crafted with the following items:

  • Sticks x2
  • Wooden Planks x2

Once that is complete, you can begin crafting the other necessary blocks.

Creating a Wooden Axe Head

With your new tables created, place down the stencil table and open the GUI. Place a blank pattern into the table, then select the axe head pattern within the left-hand menu. This will provide you with the stencil pattern needed to create the desired tool.

With this new stencil, you can open the part builder and place it in the top-left corner within the GUI. Finally, add a single wooden blank to the top-right corner and retrieve the axe head. This will complete your second quest line available in the book, allowing you to claim aluminum ore and either some milk or an egg.

Going Forward
Agrarian Skies 2 Newer Quests

With the first two introductory quests completed, you can now move on to some of the other quests. These include killing mobs, creating a crook, or even one of the newly available questlines. Continue to expand your island as you complete the tasks and keep gathering those rewards. Some rewards may be as simple as seeds or tools, while others can be as important as an additional life.

Common Issues

I get an error when joining the server:
Often, if a player is unable to join the server, it is because the modpack isn’t properly installed on your own computer. Ensure you are using the official Agrarian Skies 2 modpack to have all of the proper mods installed to join the server.

My server is stuck loading:
This often happens when a mod is removed from an existing world. You can force the world to load by going to the server console and entering /fml confirm. That should then load the world with the missing mods removed.

Modded items aren’t spawning in the server:
If the mods appear in the creative menu but are not properly appearing on the server, it often means the server is not properly using the modpack. Ensure that the server was switched to Agrarian Skies 2 through the panel and restarted to load it up.
