Hosting an Unturned server can involve many features, with spawning gear being a popular one. This allows you and other players to easily start off with items or prepare yourselves for PvP events. Whether you’re wanting a jump start in the world or test around with weapons, spawning materials in Unturned is an awesome mechanic to use. Using this has no limits, meaning you can instantly make tons of guns appear to fend off your base. This process can be a bit tricky, as it requires prior configuration and an understanding of using commands. Fret not zombie killer, it’s straightforward and easy regardless of experience. Let’s begin!
Server owners can spawn in any type of item, from backpacks to building materials. There are many possibilities at your disposal, as you have complete control. However, using this feature requires your account to be an admin with cheats enabled. Once everything is prepared, you can begin spawning anything in the game! Just make sure to not overload the server with a billion items at once since that can create some problems. A good rule of thumb is to keep the material amounts reasonable when you begin the process.
As for actually spawning items, you’ll need to understand a few things about the Give command. This can be done either in your server Console
or in-chat
, which affects the format to use. The general way to run this command is /give [Player/SteamID]/[ItemID]/[Amount]. You must replace “[Player/SteamID]” with your in-game username or the account’s ID. If it’s not obvious to you, make sure to not use any of the brackets while executing this command. In our example, we used /give 76561199357420974/155/1 to spawn an Orange T-Shirt while playing the game. When using the other method, remove the first slash (/) and keep the remaining format. Regardless of what you choose, make sure to review the item list to know your desired IDs to use.
Instead of using the other method for spawning items, you can send materials to players every time they die in-game. This uses skillsets, such as a police officer that have unique attributes, with a list of resources afterward in the command. The format for this is /loadout [SkillsetID]/[ItemID]/[ItemID]/…. It’s encouraged to only use this in the console area of your panel, but can also be done in-chat. Either way, this is a helpful tool to have if you’re trying to boost newcomers on your server. For example, starter kits are given to players this way and allows them to easily kick start their adventure.
Once you get the hang of these commands, you’ll be able to easily and quickly spawn items for players. Make sure to follow all their respective formats so it works, as you wouldn’t want it to fail. Similarly, don’t overdo it with the amount of items since that can easily overwhelm your server. With this in mind, there are tons of other useful commands to try out in the game.
