Overview

While Minecraft offers a peaceful and serene environment, its fundamental mechanics often revolve around acts of destruction and violence. Players must engage in activities such as hunting animals for resources and protecting themselves from dangerous creatures, and ultimately defeating a dragon to complete the game. The game provides specialized swords designed explicitly for efficient combat, complemented by enchantments to enhance their effectiveness. In this blog, we will explore how to craft the most OP sword to improve your combat prowess. How intriguing!

The Sword

Before we go over the complex aspects of enchantments and conserving XP levels, we need to craft the actual sword. To acquire the most overpowered (OP) sword, we’ll simply need to craft the sword that deals the most damage. This means we’re aiming for a Netherite Sword.

To craft a Netherite sword you’ll need a Diamond sword and one Netherite Ingot. The Smithing Table is the essential crafting station for this process. Interestingly, upgrading any item or armor piece to Netherite only necessitates a single Netherite Ingot, and this upgrade will preserve your existing enchantments. This means that you can actually do this step after the enchanting, and it won’t really change much. The procedure is straightforward: place the Diamond sword into the first slot, followed by the Netherite Ingot in the second slot, and voilà, you’ll have your Netherite sword. This upgrade will offer our swords more damage and durability than if it were Diamond. Neat!

The Enchantments

So, when it comes to the enchantments, we have a flat-out list of every enchantment we need to make the godsword. In true overpowered fashion, we’re going to stack pretty much every enchantment we can, prioritizing the best enchantments accounting for mutually exclusive ones.

We’ll be enchanting the sword with Sharpness V, Fire Aspect II, Knockback II, Looting III, Mending, Sweeping Edge III, and Unbreaking III.

Netherite God Sword

Sharpness – An enchantment that increases melee damage. I don’t think this needs an explanation, but essentially, we’re upping our damage to improve the amount of damage we deal with each swing. This is a flat increase to all our attack damage, and we’re choosing it over Smite because, unlike Smite, it works on any and all things you can attack.

Fire Aspect – The most pyromantic enchantment in the game. This allows you to ignite whatever you attack with each strike. Pretty simple, but that burn effect keeps refreshed every time you attack your target, allowing for massive damage over time the longer the fight goes on. This enchantment also drops cooked meat when killing animals. Neat!

Knockback – When it comes to a fight, keeping yourself alive comes above all other priorities. Knockback allows you to launch enemies and mobs alike far away to maintain proper spacing and plan your next move. Some view the increased launch as annoying since it will technically slow down your DPS, but the safety is worth it in my opinion.

Mending – While playing Minecraft, you’ll get experience orbs (XP) that give you the power to enchant items. However, every piece of armor, tool, and weapon breaks down over time until it snaps. Mending is by far one of the most powerful enchantments in the game, allowing you to repair the durability of your leggings simply by acquiring XP.

Unbreaking – Speaking of durability, use the unbreaking enchantment with mending to further the item’s lifespan. Unbreaking can negate damage against itself, thereby keeping it existing longer. In almost every piece of god-tier leggings, the enchantment is applied due to its powerful nature.

Looting – An enchantment for swords that can cause mobs to drop more items and increase the chances of rare drops. The additional drops do not affect experience.

Sweeping Edge – A sword enchantment that increases sweep attack damage. Definitely a great enchantment for the mechanically challenged, as it will have you dealing decent damage to mobs and players even if you missed them completely.

Now, this is going to take an insurmountable amount of XP to accomplish. In fact, it will quite literally take at the very least 49 levels of XP. It will also most likely take you quite a while to acquire all of the enchantments listed, but once you do, you’ll be left with the most OP sword in Minecraft. A Netherite blade genuinely fit for a king.

There are three possible ways to enchant your leggings: using an Enchanting Table, finding an enchanted book, or trading for it with a villager. The first option is your best bet, as you can continuously try your chances until you get it. This is better than finding it in a villager trade or locating an enchanted book in a dungeon since the chances aren’t in your favor. Don’t waste time, get bookshelves and make an enchanting area to get these OP abilities.

Conclusion

That’s all! Making the ideal sword isn’t actually that difficult, but more so tedious. Collecting all the enchantments will definitely be the most difficult part, as you’re sort of forced to depend on luck unless you are extremely experienced with villager trading. In any case, I hope I helped you craft the sword of your dreams. And with that, have a great day!
