CS:GO is a super-competitive first-person shooter where two teams of five players go head-to-head in various PvP gamemodes. Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists attempt to outplay each other by either eliminating the enemy team or completing the objective. There are also some other gamemodes and seasonal events like Deathmatch and Battle Royale, but they're not representative of the main gamemode, which is known as Competitive or 'Comp.' There are even community servers based around minigames like 'surfing' and 'bunny hopping.' CS:GO is a game that defined the FPS genre with its unique weapon models, animations and sound design for its guns. The Source Engine is also a great go-to for simple yet effective gunplay and shooting mechanics, with classics like Half Life, Garry's Mod, and Portal all utilizing it. CS:GO is the epitome of low-latency competitive shooter gameplay.
Setting up a dedicated CS:GO server is not a simple task. It requires specialized hardware, software and bandwidth to provide the best environment for players. That's why we offer a simple CS:GO server setup process, allowing you and your friends to play together online at any time. With years of experience in game hosting, Apex Hosting have perfected how to manage and operate these servers effectively. Our system does all of this and while keeping the server up to date automatically. Managing your server is easy with our web-based control panel, allowing you to control your settings, install mods, add new maps and more! Playing CS:GO multiplayer without a dedicated server means you have to rely on random servers in the server browser each time you want to play. With a dedicated CS:GO server from Apex Hosting, anyone can join your game whenever they want.
To join a server on CS:GO, you will first need to launch the game and open settings. Once there, select “Game Settings”, then locate “Enable Developer Console”. Head to the main menu and press the ‘~’ key to open the console. Finally type in “connect [IP:port]” using the server’s IP. This is just one of multiple ways to connect to your server. If you run into any issues, make sure a Steam game token has been generated and added to your server.
To change the map on your Counter Strike: Global Offensive server, you will first want to head to the Apex Server Panel. Once there, navigate to the “Console” section on the left-hand side. Finally, type in the command bar “changelevel [Map CodeName]” (e.g. “changelevel de_inferno”) and press enter.
To ban a player, you will first need to locate their User ID. To do this, use the “status” command in the game console. The user ID will be formatted such as “STEAM_1:1:4122421”. From here, you can use the command “banid [Minutes] [User ID]” to ban the player. As an example, it may look like “banid 30 STEAM_1:1:4122421”.
To upload plugins to your CS:GO server, you will first want to head to your Apex Server Panel and stop the server. Once the server is stopped, navigate to the “FTP File Access” part of the page and login. From here, navigate to the csgo/addons/sourcemod/plugins/ folder.
