Throughout humanity, many ages have passed as we progress as a species and evolve in different ways. The Stone Age, The Bronze Age, the Industrial Revolution, and so much more! Our history is deeprooted in major changes which improved our situation as a species significantly. And now, it’s time for Conan Exiles to receive its new age of updates. The Age of War has begun! A series of updates will bring about new and exciting features in the survival title to come. Let’s talk about it!
Conan Exiles Age of War
Like the Age of Sorcery, Age of War is a series of updates outlined in the content roadmap for Conan Exiles which will bring new content to the game and its world. The Age of Sorcery has brought about a massive amount of content in less than a year – the sorcery system, building revamp, attributes overhaul, new encounters, golem shaping, new characters, and stories, and the Journey System redesign. Yet still the forge masters that are the development team find it deep in their soul to make the content furnace burn bright.
On June 22nd, 2023 the Age of War begins as the developers unleash the first of three major free updates, each of which will accompany a paid Battle Pass and new cosmetic Bazaar store items. After working on the Age of Sorcery, the team had apparently wanted to work on something like this since the very beginning of the game. The theme has now shifted to the strength of steel and the allure of gold.
In the Age of War, you will experience the Stygian Invasion of the Exiled Lands as they seek to plunder all of your possessions! An invading force on their way to terrorize our homeland? Not on my watch! In Chapter One, you will begin filling your treasure room as you hunt for valuables across the lands, as the developers put it. This includes unique clan emblems that you will be able to create and display on banners, shields, and more. This will also be accompanied by new combat changes, weapon changes, and even something referred to as Clan Hoards.
Future Chapters
As explained, June 22nd will be the launch of the Age of War, but the initial launch will only house Chapter 1’s content. But what awaits us in the future? What types of features and content can we expect to see in Chapters 2 and 3? Well, using the roadmap, we can take a peek into what will be introduced.
In Chapter 2, we can see that Purges will be revamped. The Purge is a mechanic in Conan Exiles where enemy NPCs attack players’ bases. A Purge revamp could introduce new types of Purge events, such as larger and more challenging waves of enemies, special boss encounters, or unique rewards for successfully defending against a Purge. It might also include additional strategies and defensive options for players to better prepare and fortify their bases against Purges, such as improved traps, siege weapons, or defensive structures. While we don’t know exactly what to expect, we can be sure that it will be an improvement on what is already there, rather than new mechanics entirely.
Next, in Chapter 3 we can expect PvE Sieges. PvE Sieges could be a new gamemode where players band together to defend against waves of AI-controlled enemies, similar to a Purge but on a larger scale. This mode could require players to strategize, coordinate, and utilize their base defenses effectively to repel increasingly difficult enemy assaults. It could also introduce new enemy types, siege engines, or dynamic objectives to keep the gameplay challenging and engaging. Successful completion of PvE Sieges might reward players with unique loot, experience points, or other exclusive benefits. ‘Sieges’ could also just refer to larger AI bases that need to be raided over the course of a prolonged period of time with the assistance of many players. Whatever it ends up being, I’m sure it’ll be dope!
The next listed item is ‘TBC’ which I’m really not too sure of. I’m assuming it is referring to content that hasn’t been designed or finalized yet, so nothing to comment on there.
Lastly, the New Battle Pass, Store, and Free Content. This is fairly simple. You can expect heaps of cosmetics, both premium and free alike with each new chapter. We aren’t sure about the pricing, but oh well!

The development team has worked tirelessly to bring significant content updates in previous releases, and now they are ready to embark on a Conan Exiles journey focused on the strength of steel and the allure of gold.
