While ARK Survival Evolved may not have any major expansions planned for the bulk of 2022, we can count on seasonal events and holiday cheers to keep our spirits high! ARK Love Evolved is the epic dinosaur ridden game’s celebration of all things love. Plenty of new rewards and small prizes will be offered to the players during the event, so let’s check out the details!
On January 31st, Studio Wildcard will allow the event to be manually activated with the server arg parameter: -ActiveEvent=vday. Simple enough. For the duration of the event, all world buffs from Baby Boon & Maewing Poach on Genesis Part 2 on the Official Network will be disabled.
The developers acknowledge that in the past, they’ve adjusted the impact the event had on the rates by tweaking bonuses that are used during the holidays, however, those tweaks lead to unfavorable circumstances on maps that aren’t Genesis Part 2, so they will be disabling these mission buffs specifically as not to affect the bonuses on other maps.
But what can you actually do during the event? Well, there’s a couple of things.
Valentines Coelacanth can be caught for chibis, chocolates, candies.
Mating can randomly drop chocolates and candies.
You can also obtain items and cosmetics unique to this epic loving holiday. Some are new, but others are returning cosmetics from past Love Evolved events. All cosmetics, emotes, and new chibis listed are only obtainable during the event, but can still be used and kept after the end of the event.
The newest addition that comes with this update is not really the skins or emotes, but the chibis. The event brings five new chibi pets. But what are Chibis? Many events throughout the year offer chibis, which are mostly cosmetic in nature. Essentially, they are tiny animals that give small passive buffs to your stats which can be leveled up over time. Sometimes, the buffs can be very useful, like increasing your player’s level cap by 5 levels. All you need to do is gain experience while you have the chibi equipped. To acquire a chibi, all you have to do is kill the Alpha versions of the creature that you’re looking for the chibi version of. Not exactly easy, but that’s the way it goes.
Furthermore, all official servers will have 3x XP, Harvesting, Taming, and Breeding, 0.5x Mating Interval, along with a 1.5x Hexagon Bonus. Small Tribe Servers will receive 4.5x XP, 4.5x Harvesting, 4.5x Taming, and 4x Breeding, 0.5x Mating Interval, along with a 1.5x Hexagon Bonus. ARKPocalypse will receive a 5x XP, 5x Harvesting, 5x Taming, and 5x Breeding, 0.5x Mating Interval, along with a 1.5x Hexagon Bonus. Classic receives 6x XP, 6x Harvesting, 6x Taming, and 5x Breeding, along with 0.5x Mating Interval.
That’s all! We’re all really excited to celebrate the most romantic day of the year with our favorite dinosaur game. Never thought I’d be saying that sentence, but here I am now! I find it hilarious how the developers were able to thematically fit Valentine’s day by lowering breeding intervals and offering rewards for breeding. It’s actually quite funny, and definitely helpful for us players. ARK Love Evolved 3 will start on February 9th and end on February 16th, so don’t miss it. Have a great day!
